Happy Saturday!

Last Saturday, I met English classmates. I was very happy to get together with friends after such a long while. We had lunch and went to the cinema. The title of the movie is "Return". It is a great thriller. That movie has a plot twist at the end. No one had been able to foresee such a dramatic reversal. After seeing the movie, we went to the coffee shop "Pascucci". We chattered on endlessly and took pictures. Even though it was a short meeting, we had pleasant time.

The DEVIL wears PRADA

This is the very book I have been studying for ten days.
This is a filmscript, not novel.
I am studying for the following way.
First, watch a movie a little without subtitles.
Second, read a filmscript and translations many times.
Third, watch a movie again.
Finally, listening to it repeatedly every day!
I could naturally memorize some expression.
Here are some useful expression.
Get him on the phone.
What took you so long?
It's a tough call.
Good girl! Good girl!!
This is my break.
I know this is totally last minute... but..
Take a chance.
You are whining.
I'm screwing it up.
Good night, take it easy.
Just in case.

< L'Angelus > - Jean Francois Millet

This painting is the pride of French.
The farmer and his wife are praying while listening the church bell.
It looks like a peaceful scene, but there's a sad story.
They are not came for work.
They are came for bury their baby.
There is a baby in the basket.
That time many people suffered from hunger.
But the baby couldn't stand hunger, so he passed away.
A friend of Millet was shocked to saw about that.
So he advised Millet to substitute baby with something.
Millet paint over the drawing, so there is a potato in the basket.

swimming pool

I went to the swimming pool.
It's $3 for the entrance fee.
There were SO many kids since it was a school break.
I changed into my swimsuit, put on my goggles and swimming cap.
Anyway, I did warm-up exercises indifferently, and got into the water.
Sometimes I had a cramp in my leg, but today is OK.
I wanted to dive, but I could never do that. (Because of so many kids.)
I'm most comfortable doing freestyle, but doing the butterfly is more exciting.
I had a good time except for one thing.
Water kept leaking into my goggles.
I try adjusting the strap, but it's no use.
I may as well buy a new one.
